On the 5th, Osang Healthcare, a company specializing in in vitro diagnostics, announced that it has completed the development of a diagnostic kit to determine whether a person is infected with monkeypox.

The product developed by Osang Healthcare is called “GeneFinderTM MPXV RealAmp Kit,” which is a gene amplification (PCR) model. 

It can simultaneously detect Orthopoxviruses (including smallpox, chickenpox, and monkeypox) and Monkeypox virus within 50 minutes.

Additionally, it is compatible with various devices and features simplified reagent preparation steps, enhancing usability. 

An official from Osang Healthcare said, “We plan to export it overseas for research purposes,” adding, “We are currently developing and supplying various customized products in response to requests from research institutions and testing institutions in various countries.”

He added, “We are actively developing not only infectious products caused by external pathogens, but also disease prediction products through personal genome analysis.”
