The newly approved 'GeneFinder™ HLA-B*58:01 Plus RealAmp Kit' is a diagnostic kit designed to identify gout patients at high risk of severe skin reactions caused by allopurinol.
Gout is a disease caused by the improper excretion of uric acid produced in the body, leading to severe inflammation and pain around the joints. According to the National Health Insurance Service, the number of patients treated for gout increased by approximately 17.1% over four years, from 433,984 in 2018 to 508,397 in 2022.
